The Dukes of Hazzard used a vehicle as a crucial plot protagonist, similar to earlier programs like The Fantastic Car or The A-Team, as the Dukes relied on their commanding Dodge Charger to carry out their schemes and elude the law.
The CBS television series premised in January 1979, lasted for seven seasons until 1985, and had 145 episodes.
It had ratings comparable to Dallas at the time and was motivated by the 1975 movie Moonrunners, which followed the exploits of a family of bootleggers.
General Lee quickly entered American popular culture thanks to the innumerable chases, jumps, and drifts he amused audiences with.
